This was in my opinion the highlight of my Vegas trip....Everything went smoothly...The bus driver(Tony) was informative and entertaining. The cruise on Lake Mead was enjoyable. The tour through Hoover Dam was really nice...Hoover Dam itself...Awesome
I enjoyed the tour of Hoover Dam and Lake Mead. Lunch on the lake cruise could have been a better.
Grayline did an awful job of getting us to the dam. We were picked up at 9am but did not get to the dam until 12:00. We spent lots of waisted time at their terminal waiting on them to complete a full bus. The driver, Dwayne, was awful. He tried to be funny but was stupid. He was on the cell phone while driving, which I found to be dangerous. Someone found a lost wallet so he decided to take the entire group to the lodge to return the wallet. This should have been done while we were on the lake mead cruise. This tour began at 9am and ended at our hotel at 6:30. A complete Day was waisted for a 3 hour tour!
Brilliant day out, the cruise on lake Mead was awesome. Visit to the Dam was great so much information
I loved this tour! Our bus picked us up at the hotel and took us to the terminal where everything was explained on how things would go for the day. We then loaded a bus and were on our way. There is a GPS guided system that is supposed to let you hear things about the sights you're seeing on the way there, but it wasn't working. So we got to hear our bus driver tell us things about Las Vegas and the dam on the way there. Vernon Buchanon was his name and he was terrific.
I will admit that I was worried I wouldn't like the group experience - or that my husband wouldn't. But everything about it was enjoyable. I loved the lake Mead cruise and the information given during it. It was a lovely day and a great trip.
The power plant tour during the time at the Hoover Dam was interesting and not too long. We had some free time to see the sights at the dam after that tour which made for a quite enjoyable day.
The only downside of the whole experience was that the bus stopped at all the hotels to drop people off and ours was next to last on the list. They did this instead of going back to the terminal and having smaller buses deliver us back to the hotels like we were picked up that morning. However, that didn't ruin the day, just made it a bit longer.
I would totally do it over again just the same if I had the chance. I highly recommend it.
Wait at terminal was slow but the excellent driver made up for it!
Tony was awesome!! Will suggest it others
Great trip, Loved the cruise and impressed with the Hoover Dam. Make sure you understand pick up and drop off, we stayed at the Venetian and had to go to the Mirage (only across the street) but if we had not called the tour company the day before, we would not have known but otherwise it was amazing. I have used Viator in Italy, England and Vegas and have not ever been disappointed.
The tour covered every thing we wanted, with the driver (Ozzie) slowing or stopping whenever there were good views to be had. The visit inside the Hoover Dam was fascinating.
Pick-up was good, but a bit disappointing that it wasn't from our hotel; the assembly of the group at the operator's central office was a bit chaotic but no real issues. Because the tour was on a large bus with passengers from many hotels, the drop off after the tour seemed to go on forever but that's inevitable when you're on a big bus
Unfortunately the paddle steamer for the lake was not working, very disappointing and eventhough Hover dam was great to do, neither the tour people or the bus driver informed me that at the dam there is airport security, thus myself and others on the tour lost time having to go back to the bus to drop things off. Pity because on these tours time is important therefore information about the security at the dam would have helped
Late pick up, late departure, missed out trip to Chocolate Factory in the morning because supposedly not enough time but we were then dropped off for the Lake Mead trip 45 minutes before it was due to depart. Deli lunch was a ham or turkey roll with a bag of crisps or potato salad, fruit and can of soda or water !!!!!
Boat trip very over rated best part of this trip was the view of the dam. !!!!!
Then onto the Hoover Dam Tour which was fine and having left at four o’clock we then wasted another 30 minutes dealing with an incident that had happened earlier in the day which the Tour Guide could have dealt while we were at the Hoover Dam.
Then the Tour Guide decided to do the Chocolate Factory visit on the way back to LA said we would leave at 17.15 eventually left at 17.30 which meant we did not get back to our drop off point until 18.30
leaving us just 30 minutes to get back to our hotel, change and get to the Mirage for the show we had booked which started at 19.00.
We had checked the day before as to what time the tour would finish and were told 17.00 which would have been achieved if so much time had been wasted during the day so all in all not impressed with Grays Line Tours time management of this tour which nearly ended up with us not making the show.
We were supposed to arrive at Lake Mead for the 12pm boat tour with lunch and other tour members were going to the Railroad Hotel for their lunch then on to Hoover Dam for the tour there around 3pm, never happened. To begin with the tour was overbooked, lost at least 1/2 hour, then we went to a location for people to take a picture of the Las Vegas sign, should have been done on the way back from the dam, next stop was Ethel M's chocolate factory, lost more time there, finally ended up taking the 2pm boat tour which was good but by the time we got off the boat and ready to head for the dam tour it was closed. The whole day was a convoluted, disorganized, disappointment, UGH!!!
Take a tour of the mighty Hoover Dam, where you'll explore the inside of the dam, walk through a 250-foot-long tunnel and view the 650-foot-long Nevada wing of the power plant. You’ll also enjoy a 90-minute cruise, including lunch, aboard a paddle wheeler on Lake Mead.
