We had a blast on this tour. We decided to do it on Halloween night, so it was a little busy- but to be expected. Our tour guide Alan was a blast, he had such a great sense of humor and provided an unbiased and factual tour. He was very interactive with the group and made the tour so much fun. The driver was great as well and also had a great sense of humor. The tour wasn’t scary, so if that is what you’re looking for then I wouldn’t suggest it, but if you want a fun way to experience history, I would highly recommend doing this tour.
My sister and I recently did this tour and could not speak highly enough! Our tour guide, Allen Doyle (we believe), was an exceptional tour guide who was knowledgable but more importantly - hilarious! We appreciated that though the night focused on Jack the Ripper, our guide took opportunities to tell us about the history of the street of London, gave recommendations for activities and outlined famous movie locations - all of which contributed to a fantastic evening.
I did this tour my first night in London, I was traveling by myself and it was a great way to see the city at night.
Our tour guide was funny and informative. His name was Adam and you could tell how much he loved his job!
What a fun tour! Magnus (apologies if I have this wrong) is a very informed and passionate guide. Loved the bus!
This tour was one of the highlights of our London stay. Alan our tour guide was the best, he was funny and full of facts not only about Jack the Ripper but London itself. He kept the tour interesting and upbeat even though the subject matter can be pretty gruesome. Highly recommend this tour. Only thing that could have made it better was it being darker at some of the sites, but unfortunately the sun doesn't set until very late in London this time of year.
This was a fun touristy kind of thing to do. I learned a lot about Jack the Ripper from our guide, Magnus, I believe his name was. He is passionate about his subject, often funny, but could be a bit too dismissive at times. The bus, unfortunately, was very dirty with sodden trash under the seats on the upper deck. It should definitely be cleaned between tours. It also seemed to be experiencing engine trouble on our return to the Sherlock Holmes Pub. Maybe needs a bit of a makeover! But the walking part of the tour was interesting and informative with a bonus stop in Smithfield at St. Bartholomew's Hospital where Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson originally met in Arthur Conan Doyle lore. The Sherlock Holmes Pub, the endpoint, was an interesting walk thru and conveniently located a block from the Strand and Charing Cross Station. Had anyone else stayed I might have done so too for a quick lager. An enjoyable evening.
Magus was our guide and was in period costume. Very well spoken and kept the story riveting! The drop off was the Sherlock Holmes pub and too busy to get in. Hard to find our way back to the hotel!
disappointed by the fact you promise to taste fish and chips at the end of the tour, in the sherlock holmes 's pub, while the kitchen was closed and we couldn't eat anything!
The tour was ok. Learned some interesting info but it was not at all what I expected. The bus was old and needs to be updated.
Not interesting/ not well prepared/I think that we would have been better off going to Sherlock Holmes pub straight away and watched the Johnny Depp movie about thru Ripper!
Experience the spook-laden sights and streets of London’s past on this 2.5-hour bus and walking tour. Ride a vintage double-decker bus, stop for two walking tours along the way, and listen to stories at every eerie stop from an expert local guide. Explore the atmospheric hunting grounds of the Ripper, see the former execution site of Smithfield Market and learn about bloodthirsty Sweeney Todd and the Cock Lane ghost. Finish at a cozy London pub to soothe your jangled nerves.
