I did this tour my first night in London, I was traveling by myself and it was a great way to see the city at night.
Our tour guide was funny and informative. His name was Adam and you could tell how much he loved his job!
What a fun tour! Magnus (apologies if I have this wrong) is a very informed and passionate guide. Loved the bus!
This tour was one of the highlights of our London stay. Alan our tour guide was the best, he was funny and full of facts not only about Jack the Ripper but London itself. He kept the tour interesting and upbeat even though the subject matter can be pretty gruesome. Highly recommend this tour. Only thing that could have made it better was it being darker at some of the sites, but unfortunately the sun doesn't set until very late in London this time of year.
Interesting and chilling tour round the streets of Whitechapel...great fun on the vintage double decker bus..very learned tour guide who had a gift for transporting you back in time. We loved this tour and would recommend great for families
Magus was our guide and was in period costume. Very well spoken and kept the story riveting! The drop off was the Sherlock Holmes pub and too busy to get in. Hard to find our way back to the hotel!
Granddaughter has interest in Jack the Ripper story. Microphone system in bus was not good. We couldn’t hear over noise of bus. Drop off at Sherlock Home Pub disappointing. The upstairs restaurant closed at 9. After waiting 15 min for a table they would not serve us a meal in the pub because my granddaughter is less than 18.
Tour was not what we thought it would be. Never once talked about Sherlock Holmes or any haunted London. Tour was solely focused on Jack the Ripper. Bus we were on was horrible. As advertised it was a vintage double decker bus but it was so bad we rattled thru the streets. Think they need to take it of the road and give it a once over.
Ok, so first of all we started half an hour late. It took us an entire HOUR to get to Whitechapel and we saw many irrelevant sites with unnecessary commentary. Our guide, Magnus, was very condescending when anyone needed to use the bathroom and sprayed on us when he talked. He was not entertaining AT ALL. Our tour also ended an hour late. It was too late to find anything to eat. We left about half an hour early when he took us to an irrelevant meat market. There was also no mention of Sherlock Holmes, William Wallace, or Sweeney Todd. Magnus also seemed to know very little about Jack the Ripper.
Frustrated this tour didn't start on time. We were told the bus broke down, and we should have a new one soon. Over an hour later, one finally showed. We were very frustrated as we only had a few days to spend in London.
Both myself and family went with an open mind for this tour but it was not good at all. Firstly the tour guide was tried and not funny. Then lets face it who wants to walk around in the dark on a cold winter night listing to what might and may have happen in the spot we stood in. Also a beer bottle was through at the group and tour guide was unaware of it happening and it was lucky that nobody got hurt. We found it boring and we got better information from a book than the tour guide it was a waste of money.
Experience the spook-laden sights and streets of London’s past on this 2.5-hour bus and walking tour. Ride a vintage double-decker bus, stop for two walking tours along the way, and listen to stories at every eerie stop from an expert local guide. Explore the atmospheric hunting grounds of the Ripper, see the former execution site of Smithfield Market and learn about bloodthirsty Sweeney Todd and the Cock Lane ghost. Finish at a cozy London pub to soothe your jangled nerves.
