We have a great time that we ever think posible, thanks to Viator and its personnel. The guide know his job. Stonehenge is spectacular.
Peter and Nuno were an excellent guide and driver. Peter is very knowledgeable about everything you pass, and his humor is top notch. I highly recommend Peter and Nuno as a guide/driver combo if you can secure it. The inner circle access is completely awesome and a must do. It was a day I’ll never forget. Thanks Peter and Nuno!!!!
Very very special to be with the Stones in the inner cirkle; Magic!! Exellent guiding both in Stonehenge, and on the rest of the Tour. Highly recomending!!
Everything that I dreamt of. Incredible experience of seeing the stones up close. Worth the early morning to avoid the crowds.
Awesome tour! We didn’t have good weather but we enjoyed Stonehenge. Being in the inner circle makes a big difference in the experience. Lacock and Bath are very cute towns. Our guide Peter is very knowledgeable and has a great sense of humor which made the trip fun and interesting.
If Stonehenge is on your list then you will definitely want to do this tour. Not only was it amazing to get to stand in the middle of the stones, it was also amazing to see the Roman baths in Bath as well.
It was well worth getting up very early in the morning to experience the inner circle of Stonehenge. Frank, our guide, and Ricardo, our driver, were great. Ricardo's driving was very comfortable even in the heavy traffic returning to London. Frank was engaging and personable. This tour stops at Stonehenge before it opens to everyone. Your group is the only group at the site which was great for photo opportunities. We found out Frank was an excellent photographer. You had ample time at Stonehenge.
Lacock was a cute little town with a lot of ties to major films. An added bonus if you are into that.
The bus then took us to Bath, where we received our tickets to go in the Roman Bath site. Once the tickets were distributed we were left to explore on our own which we enjoyed. Frank gave us some pointers of what to see and how to make the most out of the area.
Overall we enjoyed this excursion.
Lovely tour, Frank, the guide was fantastic and Martin the driver was friendly and safe. The only reason I am NOT giving a 5 star rating is because The tour is called the sunrise tour which lead me to think we were going to be inside the Stonehenge Circle at sunrise. Other than that it was a pleasant experience Frank description along with my being a fan of the series “Outlander “ made me hope to be transported back in time, but as it may, you could not touch the stones, but being there in the circle was worth it alone - having the mystical and spiritual feeling of another time.
The Stonehenge part is amazing and justifies the whole trip and cost. You can’t get right up to the stones any other way. This can’t be overstated. The sense of presence while walking through and around them is amazing.
The rest of it is very hit and miss, and I suspect totally depends on three things you cannot control: the weather, the crowds, and who you get as your tour guide.
We were reasonably lucky for the weather but not so much for the other two.
I think we want our tour guides to be four things: friendly, helpful, entertaining, and knowledgeable. Our one was very friendly and helpful, but unfortunately not so great at the other two.
A hint for the tour guides at this company: I suspect you’ve all been told that dead air is the cardinal sin and you must always find something to say. However this does not mean you should fill all available talk time with a stream of consciousness babble based on whatever your eye falls on. You are there to add value to what the customers can see for themselves, not to say what you see. It really isn’t necessary to tell us even once that a red brick house is made out of bricks that are red... let alone saying it several times. It certainly isn’t necessary to tell us that the stone that a stone house is build of is a naturally occurring substance that comes from the ground. If that’s all you’ve got then may I gently suggest not saying anything at all and studying up so you have actual material the next time?
But I’ll finish this review by saying again that the Stonehenge portion is what makes this tour. If you get a great guide, fantastic, otherwise just tune them out.
I had a great time on this tour. I was in England with my family but went on this tour by myself as they had already been to Stonehenge and wanted more time in London. This was my first time as a solo traveler on a tour like this one and the group was very welcoming, and I never felt out of place. Frank was our guide and he was great. We were split into two groups at Stonehenge, but I didn't mind this as each group got more than enough time inside the stones. I also loved Lacock, it was nice to see a smaller village in England (and see all the Harry Potter locations!). My only complaint and the reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is that I wish we had more time in Bath and Lacock instead of killing time at Stonehenge. We only had about an hour to ourselves in Bath after we went to the Roman Baths, and that's not really enough time there in my opinion. Otherwise, I really enjoyed the tour!
