Stop At: Changing of the Guard, Buckingham Palace, London SW1A 1AA England
Your regal tour begins at the Duke of York Column, located in St. James’, where you’ll greet your guide, don a personal headset, and receive a historical overview of the Changing of the Guard ceremony.
Many tourists make the mistake of viewing the ceremony outside of Buckingham Palace. However on this tour, handpicked vantage points ensure you get the best views of the royal tradition while listening to commentary that explains each part of the performance.
Marvel at the shimmering coats of the household cavalry as their riders control the horses with expert precision; capture photographs of the iconic red and black attire of the Queen’s foot soldiers; and, move quickly between vantage points in a small group of only 15 people.
Your tour concludes outside of Buckingham Palace.
Please note: The Changing of the Guard ceremony is subject to changes in date, time and cancellation at the discretion of British authorities. Cancellation due to bad weather is not announced before 11am. Even when cancelled, customers will still see a ‘wet change’ during which the guards march but without the usual music and parade.

excellent, great guide, knew history etc. stationed us at key points to see most of ceremony. did not see actual changing of guard.
I am very glad I booked this tour. It was nice to have a tour guide that new the details of the changing of the guard. We saw a lot more than we would have if we had not have booked this tour. I highly recommend it.
our tour was with Michael and City Wonders (booked thru Viator) - it was AWESOME! informative and
cool and thorough- def behind the scenes - highlight of trip- def recommend!
A great way to experience the different changing of the guards. It's not just Buckingham palace! Nathan was very knowledgeable.
We had a great walking tour to see the changing of the guards. Our tour guide was engaging, funny and knowledgeable. We were nervous about the pace of the walking and the crowds since we were touring with two elementary-age children, but the pace and level of detail was perfect for them and for us. She answered all of our questions and helped us get a full experience without being crushed by crowds. The highlight was when the Queen's motorcade went right by us and we were able to catch a great shot and picture of the Queen. Highly recommend.
One note, if you have a small child or one who doesn't like adult-sized earbuds, bring a pair of kid headphones; regular headphones will connect to the guide's microphone system.
Excellent- Phil was knowledgable and helpful and all the great places to view the guards which we would never have worked out ourselves
It worked just as advertised. Walking to pre-selected viewing spots was far better than standing in one blind spot. We could have done without the attempts to entertain the teens, however. But all else was fine and well organized.
Because of rain, we weren't able to see the actual changing of the guard but did get to see them in formation. The weather wasn't anyone's fault, but it did make for a lesser experience.
We missed the tour because we kept getting conflicting directions to the Statue where we were to meet from the LOCAL people. We walked in circles for about 20 minutes. By that time we missed the group and had to rush to make the Changing of the quard on our own.
Do not spend money for nothing. You can see changing of the Guard for free from the same spot. Very disappointment! Definitely not recommend!
See British tradition come to life on this fully-guided Changing of the Guard walking tour that ensures you get the very best views of this spectacular ceremony! Don’t make the same mistake that so many visitors often – and understandably – make, believing the prime vantage point from where to experience this time-honoured tradition is outside Buckingham Palace.
These spectators’ enthusiasm quickly turns to disappointment when they realise that they have waited for hours only to see the very end of this unique performance, their view often blocked by the throngs of people crowding around them. Instead, follow your guide on a dynamic journey that takes in the entire Changing of the Guard from beginning to end as they expertly navigate the crowds to take you to the best – and most photographable – viewpoints.
