Description:

Make your own way to the Tower of London on the banks of the Thames River. With your entrance ticket, Bypass the long lines at the main ticket office, and head through the group entrance and security into this imposing palace-fortress.

Built by William the Conqueror in 1066, the Tower has a dark 1,000-year history as a royal palace, prison and execution place, as well as a royal mint and armoury. Today, it still stores the British monarch’s Crown Jewels, just as it has done since 1303.

Once inside, explore independently or choose to take an optional audio-guided tour (own expense) or complimentary tour led by a Yeoman Warder or ‘Beefeater’, one of the ceremonial guards. The 1-hour Yeoman-led tours leave from inside the entrance every 30 minutes until the mid-afternoon, and offer a compelling insight into the tower’s history and sites.

See the brooding ravens as you walk around and be swept up by the grim but fascinating stories of the turrets, chambers and buildings around you. Visit the main, White Tower, to see its Royal Armouries exhibits, and enter the Bloody Tower, reputed to be where the ‘Princes in the Tower’ were murdered by an unknown hand in around 1483.

See Traitors’ Gate, through which the arrested Anne Boleyn was brought by boat from the Thames River. Then, walk to Tower Green where she was beheaded in 1536 on the orders of Henry VII, and where a string of monarchs and traitors also met a grisly end.

Step back to Tudor times at the Medieval Palace, where recreated medieval interiors detail comfortable lifestyles of Tudor monarchs such as Henry VIII, and stretch your legs with a Wall Walk, strolling along the massive encircling walls to discover more sites.

Lastly, don’t miss the Crown Jewels, the royal regalia and gems that symbolize the British monarchy. Join the separate queue to gaze at these sparkling exhibits, including St Edward’s Crown, used at coronations since 1661, and the legendary Koh-i-Noor diamond, the 105.6-carat diamond given to Queen Victoria in 1849.

Having explored as much as you wish, take your leave and make your own way back home or to your hotel.

We were lucky and it was a beautiful sunny day on our visit. Enjoyed the changing of the guard and the Crown Jewels. Lots of visitors that day but by purchasing the tickets online saved us considerable time. Highly recommend the tour.

brilliant, just too many steps , isnt a place for those who find it hard to get up or down steps, which is a shame, we had to give up on seeing a few things due to steps, but staff and Beefeaters were very helpful, and very polite and made you feel the most important person there.

The printed voucher tells users to go to St Katherine and Wapping site to exchange voucher for tickets to the Tower. This is NOT necessary. You can take your voucher to the group sales booth at the Tower itself and get entry tickets. Also, the voucher does not allow you to enter directly through group entry - rather you still have to stand in line to enter. The Tower itself is a wonderful experience.

The Tower is well worth visiting, however the Viator instructions to redeem for ticket at the St Katherines/Wapping imaginary address is misleading and we encountered many Viator customers wandering around in the rain looking for the redemption point.
Go directly to the Group Bookings Ticket Office at the entrance to the Tower for your tickets. We were informed that the Tower Ticket Office has complained many times to Viator and been ignored.
Also note that the Crown jewels and Beefeater tours are included in the general ticket prices and do not require a separate payment so you are not being offered anything extra upon entry

Excellent! Worth doing for the whole family. The only thing I would say is that leave more time than you think you need to do the whole thing. We didn't and therefore had to miss a bit at the end and missed out on doing the London Bridge which we already had tickets for.

There is a lot to see here - it requires several hours to see most everything. The crown jewels exhibit was very good. There was probably about a half hour wait to see this exhibit but it was well worth it. All of the other attractions were good as well.

Arrive early to beat the crowds. Exchange your voucher at the group ticket line. Lots of stairs to climb to visit the different towers and exhibits.

The Tower of London was a great place to visit, plus being a very energetic experience. A lot of distance walked and a lot of steps. The only negative was buying tickets online thinking it would save time on arrival only to find out that you had to join the queue like everyone else. So no benefit

I have to give this a two star rating because this is only tickets. There are no instructions, but you have to go to the Group Tickets line to pick up your tickets. I found this out after waiting in line for 10 minutes in the individual ticket line. There is no tour, you go at your own pace and just read all the placards. The only reason I gave it two starts is because there is a lot of history at this site and it is worth going to. I just wouldn't recommend buying this particular package.
