Had a great day in the Sun with friendly crew. We would gladly do it again. The bus tour might have been better if the guide had been telling us about the attractions
Very well organised trip, that allows you to explore the best spots of the north of Malta. Pick up/drop off at a reasonable price, very convenient. Really recommended.
Great experience, great people! We had a good day , Blue Lagoon has been a magnificent stop , our boys loved it ! Keep up !
From the pick-up close to the hotel by a very friendly and professional driver from England to boarding the boat in Bugibba made for a very relaxing start to the day. The crew welcomed us on board and with about 50 to 60 plus people there was still plent of space to enjoy the trip. The crew were friendly and informative showing us many local landmarks and caves and lagoons etc. The trips on shore allowed for plenty of walking and sight seeing and the trip was great value. The tour around Gozo was especially interesting with our guide on the bus (in his 70's) doing an excellent job. It;'s a full day but a great day.
A great packed day of sightseeing the boat ride was great Crazy Tony’s speed boat is an absolute must fantastic. Blue Lagoon is stunning the Gozo bus is a great deal and the day was perfect
We are very happy to choose this trip. Honestly we went to malta on a very impulsive trip and did not have a chance to research a lot. But we know we want to go to Gozo and Blue Lagoon. Choosing this trip was indeed the best decision, because we can easily go to the places we want with a whole lot facilities and of course an amazing crew. I will definitely recommend this to anyone.
Boat was pretty big, lots of people aboard. Blue Lagoon was gorgeous but crowded so they parked away which was much nicer.
It does not include caves tour you have to pay extra 10 euro for that. Gozo was really cute I really enjoyed that visit. Food and drinks were really nice and pretty cheap. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Slide was cool and jumping from top of the boat.
It was a very nice day visiting the first the caves, then the Blue Lagoon next to Comino and in the afternoon Gozo. The pick-up worked very well for a fair price of 5 € / person - however the bus was very old, crowded and without air conditioning.
The boat crew was very nice and helpful but the boat already has seen better days. It is a pity, that there is no sun protection on the top deck and that the sun chairs are removed during the cruise.
On the isle of Comino (blue lagoon) there is a varied offer of street food and fresh fruit salads / fresh fruit cocktails (prices are also ok even if they tell you something different on the boat).
In the afternoon, we used the Gozo minibus tour offer for 5€ / person. Again the minibus was very old, without air condition and fully crowded. Unfortunately, our first driver did not provide us any information about Gozo but just dropped us at some places. The second driver (driver changed) was a bit more communicative but we expected more. The Blue hole caves tour (which is again offered for an extra price) is nice but not a must - it is also nice to walk around the area of the former Azure Window.
Nevertheless, we had a good day and would recommend the tour to everyone staying in Malta.
So.... the overall boat ride I was very pleased with. It's a full big boat with two full stairs with seats placed everywhere, top of the boat for lounging in the sun! Grab your seats in the front of the boat if you can :)
First stop includes Comino and also the caves tour. Comino was beautiful, the boat parks up and you spend hour and a half in the sea, using the slide provided, or you can chose to explore the island for that period of time. I opted to swim for all that time. I was disappointed the fact the tour had stated the caves was included, its not though. You have to pay an additional €10 to see the caves, where you get off the main boat into a small boat. After that.. you get taken to Gozo with a 3 hour stay, here you can opt to travel around Gozo for this period of time or alternatively you can pay €5 to go on a coach where you are taken to see the main attractions in Gozo. I opted to go onto the coach, and I recommend this highly! It's worth it, you get to see a lot and Gozo is beautiful. Infact I personally prefer it more than Malta. Tickets are discussed when entering the boat, and also announced later in case you missed your chance earlier to purchase one. From Gozo back to the boat, you then to see the blue lagoon. Trip is done! A great day out, I thoroughly enjoyed it and I would highly recommend for you to do this trip. Ps: dont forget your towel, extra clothes etc for the swim, bring some snacks is if your peckish like myself. Oh and have your phone fully charged for some great pictures, and being a USB port charger so it doesn't run out!
The blue lagoon was absolutely beautiful. Yes it can be crowded and the water is very cold but once you get in you don’t feel it at all and gets warm very quickly. I would 100% say to experience this as it was wonderful. Once you find your own little water space it’s fine you don’t really care too much about the crowd. The best part is there are other food stores and lockers there to keep your bags so you don’t need to worry about where to take your stuff ,perfectly safe and no one will pressurises to spend or lurk around like some holidays.
unfortunately I can’t say we enjoyed the Gozo part nothing to see literally except yellow buildings it’s not worth going to that . We went to this because we wanted to explore the whole of Malta but it’s not worth it there is nothing to see or do. Your better of staying at the lagoon. All in all a very good day and experience, boat food is good quality and very cheap. Everything is organised well. If you choose the Gozo the coach will take you around and stop of for an hour and 30 mins on other locations so it’s well organised. We went in June time so it was very hot 26-28 degrees lovely to get a tan. We stayed at dolmen hotel which was lovely however the breakfast and dinner are not worth the price better of getting food outside which is also cheap
Hornblower Cruises is a local family run business since 1984. This tour is fantastic for those who would like to explore the two islands of the north in one day. Departure from Bugibba towards the island of Comino where you stop for 1.5 hours to snorkel, swim and take pictures of the crystal clear waters of the Blue Lagoon then cruise to the island of Gozo where you will stop for 3 hours.
