The Moscow Metro provides transportation to more than 2.4 billion people each year (9 million on a daily basis), making it the busiest European system. The stations aren’t just transit hubs – they tell the history of the city in their bewildering design and decoration. The stations were designed so lavishly in the hopes that their beauty would inspire workers on their way to dreary jobs under Soviet rule. These ornate stations eventually became known as “the palaces of the people” for their extravagant architecture.
On our tour we will visit 5-6 historical stations (out of total 44) with diverse design. The tour starts from the nearest metro station to your hotel/ accommodation, we will get there by walking (taxi is available upon request).
The mighty Russian capital has a special look at night. Feel its energy and enjoy a memorable sight of the city as the night falls and the impressive cityscape sparkles with colorful evening lights.
We will view must-sees including the Kremlin and St Basil Cathedral in Red Square, the 19th-century GUM arcade, and magnificent Christ the Savior Cathedral. We'll admire the attractive bridges connecting the banks of the Moskva River, the main artery of this metropolis. Our tour will finish on a rooftop of posh Ritz Carlton O2 bar or Ararat Hyatt (food & drinks at own expense).
