Stop At: Patriot Park Museum Complex - Stand №2, 63th km of Minskoye hwy., Kubinka 143070 Russia

Arrange your private tour to start at a time that suits your schedule, and then leave Moscow by air-conditioned minivan with your private guide. As you travel, chat about Kubinka Tank Museum and the sights that you would like to see and, of course, the history of Russian military vehicles.

After an hour on the road, head inside the museum and enjoy roughly two hours inside, browsing tanks and military equipment from all over the world. See a collection of medium-sized Soviet tanks including the famous T-34, the USSR hero of WWII. Marvel at the German Toger and Panther tanks that were captured during WWII, and discover the huge German self-propelled mortar known as Karl.

The tanks are organized into pavilions, each containing original and replica vehicles plus other military memorabilia from different eras and countries. See all the museum’s highlights as well as any other collections that might be of interest to you personally. British and American tanks and carriers are found in Pavilion 5, and the museum has a photo gallery and archive exhibition that is well worth a look.

Return to your minivan after roughly two hours inside the museum, and then travel back to central Moscow with your guide. Your tour finishes with a drop-off at your hotel.

The Kubinka tank museum was a must see for me personally because it houses the only "Maus" tank in the world. Getting this tour completed was probably as problematic as building the tank was.

Due to the limitations of the word count for this review, I will have to shorten my response so I will try to present the peaks and valleys:

Valleys:
Tour management not very good at getting back to you

Cab took off on tour guide leaving us no way to get to museum and tour management not very responsive to tour guide

Taxi dropped us off at wrong location and we walked for a mile or so before we found out we had another 9 km to get to the correct museum (site is massive)

Taxi driver was over aggressive and actually made tour guide shreek in terror.

Peaks:

Museum was amazing
Local guide was extremely passionate and well versed in his understanding of the tanks (Thanks for the great day Vasily)

Julia, persevered to make the actual tour happen for us!

The park is about a large as a county; so if you are taking this tour, I would advise to ask for Julia! I know it was not her cup of tea, and probably wore her out trying to get things done, but she know is the expert in the park and the next guests will have much less drama in getting to the correct spot because of her. A side note: because it is so big, not all the tanks are together. The Maus (which was my must see) is in a different locations that the Tigers and Elefant {Ferdinan} which are located with the airplanes in that section of the museum.

Totally worth it, but the "transport and communications" definitely need serious improvements to warrant a higher rating.
