My daughter and I ended up being the only 2 participants in our small group tour. What could have been awkward,
was a wonderful day! James was an awesome tour guide. Friendly and knowledgeable and easy to talk to! Well done!
Hannah was knowledgeable and a great guide. The ferry was fast but you got to see a great view of the city skyline. Ellis Island was my favorite part.
Great experience tour guide was fun and very informative didn’t make this experience a snooze fest he actually showed passion to what he was doing
This tour is the. Early skip the line tour so rug up but enjoy relative freedom to look, see, read and photograph without too much people pressure. Our tour guide RJ was fabulous in explaining the history and story behind the Statue of Liberty. RJ met our group at Castle Clinton prior to heading over to see the Statue of Liberty - he explained the past of Castle Clinton- originally built as a fort to ward off the British. Also pointed out a number of features and landmarks in the area. Once we arrived at The Statue of Liberty we had entry to The Pedestal - museum and stairs to the lookout point at the top of the pedestal. This amounted to climbing some 200 odd steps although there is also a lift. Do not do the steps unless you are reasonably fit and even so take your time. We had 75 minutes free time to explore the area on our own and take photos etc. This also allowed us the opportunity to visit the recently opened new museum. We then went on to Ellis Island - which was the entry point for some 12M immigrants. I find the immigration story both sad and one of joy and hope and even though the new arrivals were treated relatively well it just seems such a bleak place that I struggle to stay there for very long.
Excellent tour made even better by our guide Joel who was very knowledgeable and entertaining. Would highly recommend.
We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island! We highly recommend this tour. Our guide, Joel, was a great story teller. We learned so much about the history of immigration and the gift of the statue. In addition to the guided tour, we had an opportunity to explore on our own. We will definitely be doing another tour.
We had a great trip to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. She was informative, organized, pleasant, instructive, and helpful. Thanks for adding fun to our sister's week in NYC.
Our tour guide, Hannah, was animated, intelligent, knowledgeable and seemingly very passionate about the history of the statue and Ellis Island. The time passed very quickly and I would endorse your company very highly. I was with my four adult children and they were equally enthusiastic.
We took a tour with Sean who was very friendly, knowledgeable, and pleasant. We took our group aside to explain history and background details, complete with a ipad showing us pictures to support his information. We definitely got more out of this tour than just going on our own.
Strenghts and remarks
- Friendly, careful, didactic and imformed guide - very good job by Liz;
- Adjusted visit time, except for the period in Liberty Island (more 20-30 minutes to vist the new museum);
- Ajusted visite route
- boarding and disembarking times and time spent in the hot sun while waiting for boarding in Liberty Island - think about pushing for a full (temporary?) cover over the entire platform, closer to the boat.
Visit two of New York's most historic attractions on this 4-hour tour of the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. Enjoy priority boarding on the ferry to Liberty Island and — together with your small group and guide — enter the pedestal of the Statue of Liberty. Explore Liberty Island and head to the observation decking the Statue for a spectacular view of NYC. Then, visit Ellis Island, where you’ll learn about the vast immigration that took place here between 1892 and 1954.
