We will start by enjoy an extended walk along the river Akerselva. This is an enjoyable stroll through a scenic area rich in history- green parks in flourishing nature and repurposed old factory buildings along the river are a charming attraction and a perfect location for some free time to enjoy a local snack or coffee.
The route then takes us to the main street of Karl Johan to see such important landmarks as Stortinget, the Parliament building, National Theatre, the historic ensemble of Oslo University and will not miss the residence of the local rulers at the Royal Palace. A short visit to the Oslo City Hall, home to Nobel Peace Prize ceremony will also be enjoyed.
We will then discover the Bygdøy peninsula to visit the museum dedicated to Norwegian explorer Thor Heyerdahl and his balsa wood raft, the Kon-Tiki. Across the street is an even greater vessel of Nordic adventurers, which we will see at the Fram Polar Ship Museum and climb the strongest wooden polar ship ever built, dating from 1893.
At the end of the tour, you will catch the ferry back to the city center.
