Our guide Christophe was the very best guide. He knew all the places to go and was very knowledgeable of the history of France. Definitely ask for Christophe from A Taste of Paris tours
My daughter and I had the pleasure of having Fabia for our guide. Although I had been to the Louvre twice before, this was my daughter's first time. Fabia first gave us an overview of when the Louvre was built and expanded, which was very interesting. Then she hit certain highlights and was willing to deviate from them when I expressed interest in again seeing Botticelli's Venus and the Three Graces. At Da Vinci's The Virgin and Child with St. Anne, she explained some of the techniques he used and how we could see them in the Mona Lisa. She led us through the wonderful Michelangelo slave sculptures and Canova's Psyche Revived by Cupid's Kiss. And finally quickly manuvered us through crowds to get a good look at the Mona Lisa. She made the tour for us! We were fortunate to have had her as our guide. I notice below that there is no category that captures just two people, a mother and adult child. Since I have to select one, I chose family (teens).
Christophe was amazing!!! So professional with vast knowledge of the key pieces of the Louvre. 90 mins just flew by
Super tour of the Louvre with Julien. I have been to the Louvre many times both on group tours and individual visits. Julien's tour was designed to hit the highlights for my kids who were visiting the museum for the first time, but I learned as much about the art and the Lourvre itself than I have on all my prior visits combined. Great experience.
Once we found our guide, we had a great tour. She showed us all the must see items in the Louvre. It would have been too overwhelming to do on our own.
We texted our tour guide the night before our tour and arranged a time and place to meet. Please be sure to purchase your Louvre tickets well in advance as they are not included. We met at the statue of King Henry on a horse I believe and she took us to the front of a line and we were some of the first people in. The tour guide was great, she spoke perfect English and was very accommodating, took us to many major attraction areas including the Mona Lisa, Nike and Venus De Milo all in the first hour. We stayed and explored for several hours and quickly saw why the tour guide was so important. The Louvre is huge and we got lost several times. The tour guide had covered so many areas and knew where and when to go. We felt it was totally worth the cost.
Our guide was amazing and knows the museum like its her home. We were able to see highlights efficiently and quickly. She knows her art history and provided valuable insight on works of art. Highly recommend.
Our guide Veronica was very knowledge and very detailed oriented when describing the art work. However we got one hour and 15 min of tour, not one hour and 30 minutes as was indicated.
Our tour guide was excellent and got us in quickly. He explained a lot of the stories behind the paintings and statues. It was definitely worth it to get a tour guide since there is so much to see.
Guide no show for us or another party of three that was waiting. Figured not much hope for other party of two waiting when we left
Due to its immense size and the thousands of pieces in its collection, the Louvre is best explored and appreciated in a short amount of time on a privately guided tour. We offer a 1-hour 30 minute private tour for your group which allows you to experience this famed destination under the supervision of an expert guide. They will tailor the tour to your desires and speed, or get you right to the museum's most famous highlights - including the Mona Lisa. The tour is offered at a set price for up to 6 people. It is a private tour with skip the line access for you and your group - NO others will be added to your group.
