Although we didn't "get off" a great deal, we thoroughly enjoyed the ride and the views of all of the Paris sites. Starting early in the morning at the Arc de Triomphe meant that we had our choice of seats on the first bus of the day.
Loved it! DEFINITELY worth it!! Both my daughter and I enjoyed it. Goes to all the landmarks and tells of the history behind each one.
Easy buses to find. The guides were fantastic. Went around twice and had two different tour leaders. Heard such interesting facts that aren’t on the pre recorded commentary.
Loved loved loved this bus tour. Would recommend a multi day pass if you are here for several days. We only did one day of touring, wished we had more time here!! Definitely a dream come true.
This Bus tour was very convenient. We really enjoyed our tour and could see all places at our convenience
Did this on our first day in Paris. Worked out well as were all jet lagged. Helped to see many sites and set priorities for the rest of our visit in the city.
Was efficient and easy to use. Maps were helpful plenty of ear buds. Would be nice to have a cover on the second deck when it rained. Wish they had more live guides who could share more details.
Although the company has three offices, we were required to go to the main headquarters to exchange our vouchers for tickets because one of the places we had tickets to was the OPERA. There is a Hop-On Hop-Off office very near the Opera. That office was much closer to where we were staying and since we were visiting the OPERA, it would have been much more convenient.
We purchased a 2-day pass, but found this experience frustrating. It was hard to find the hop on locations, the buses were very full, so we often had to sit in the sweltering lower level. Also, at one point, we missed a hop off location because the driver deviated from the route on the map. In hindsight, we felt like we should have probably just ridden both the red and blue buses for one complete circuit to see the city, then not relied on it for the hop on, hop off function. Please note only some buses have live tour guides. We found the live tour guide to be great, but only one of the buses we rode had a live person. I would also say this might be a good choice to see the city if you have mobility issues; it just wasn't ideal for us.
Poor guides, some of the buses did not have actually guides only audio.Very disappointed. Got stranded without notice.
Due to busy schedule we were only able to take Hop-On Hop-Off Tour on Sun 28th, the same day as the final for Tour de France.
Of course, we knew that the main street of Paris (Avenue des Champs-Élysées) will be closed and the bus will take an alternative route. However, we have not anticipated that the traffic will be so bad and the bus driver will not let us out at all Hop-On/Hop-Off stops around Champs-Élysées and Louvre (or at least nearby, if the alternative route is chosen). As a result, in total we have spent 4 hours in the bus, where during the last 2 hours we had no possibility to get out of the bus.
My suggestion to the Big Bus company will be (in case of alternative route planning), also organise additional bus stops in case the bus cannot follow the regular bus route.
Discover the sights of Paris on a Big Bus hop-on hop-off tour! Aboard an open-top, double-decker bus, admire panoramic views of top Paris attractions including the Eiffel Tower, Louvre Museum, Notre-Dame Cathedral, Moulin Rouge and more, all while listening to audio commentary. Follow two easy routes, and hop on and off at any of the 15 stops around town. To see even more of Paris, you have the option to pair your 1-day or 2-day sightseeing pass with a Seine River cruise. If you have selected the option which allows entrance to the Louvre Museum, hop off on Stop 4 or 5 (see itinerary below) to visit one of the world's largest art museum thanks to your skip-the-line ticket. Enjoy the famous Louvre — home to Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa and many other unmissable artworks.
