Meet your guide at your Lyon hotel for pickup in the morning to start your tour, traveling about one hour from the city to Beaujeu in Beaujolais.
Upon arrival, pick up your bicycle (rental at your own expense) and begin the ride, which is done at your own rhythm and without any long or steep hills, making it suitable for nearly all levels of biking experience. Take in the scenic landscapes, and spot winemakers hard at work as you ride by vineyards. After about two hours, take a break for lunch at a local inn, where you can taste some traditional cuisine (own expense).
While cycling in the afternoon, make a stop at a family-run winery, taste some local wines, and discover a unique wine cellar. Throughout the day, your guide provides you and your party with commentary, anecdotes, and information about the area and what's happening around you. Hear about the French landscape and the relationship between winemaking and the local culture.
Your bike ride ends with a journey on an old rail line, now transformed into a sealed bike path, to return to Beaujeu for transfer back to Lyon.
