one of my favorite tours. Such and amazing place to go see and visit. If you are in France I highly reccomend this tour.
Strongly recommend this trip for people who have limited time in France but really want to visit St Michel.
Well organised day trip to MSM. It takes about 4 hrs to reach there and the bus trip was broken by a rest stop midway which was nice.
There were 4 hours at MSM itself.
It is an amazing place well worth going.
We opted for the guided tour which included lunch (with a view of MSM). We requested to skip the lunch and rejoined the tour in the abbey followed by some free time to buy souvenirs.
Long day but comfortable coach and good guide made it very nice
well organised, excellent bus and driver
i did the self-guided tour, walked to the island even though it was very windy
Excellent location. It was short but worth it. I just wished we had more time to tour around or maybe had stayed in the area overnight.
We use this tour company many times until yesterday our last trip and the day before our trip to Château de Chambord was excellent on service we love. But yesterday this guide tour he did not know how to speak and have not so nice manner.
We lived our guide Fabian and was glad for his incredible knowledge AND...we wish we hadn’t done the lunch because we had almost no time after the great tour of the abbey to enjoy the rest of the mont! Great bus ride - long but very very comfortable. Worth the money.
Marian was a very knowledgeable and pleasant guide. The tour included lunch at a nice restaurant with a view of the monastery. They combined English speaking and Spanish speaking groups so the tour took twice as long so there wasn’t much time to explore the town at leisure after the guided tour. There is Wifi in the bus (though spotty at times) so the long drive passed by quickly with activities on our mobile devices. There was a 30 minute stop in each direction at a gas stop for free facilities and food for purchase. When we returned to Paris, the driver stopped briefly so we could catch a glimpse of the Eiffel tower light show. All in all a worthwhile experience
This was a cool sight to see. You start at the pickup point and get a large coach bus. You then take a 4 hour bus ride to get to the Mot Saint Michel (with one stop along the way). You then have a guided tour through the Mont Saint Michel. After the tour you get back on the bus for the trip home. I personally think that this should be a two day trip as it takes so long to get there.
Pros: Beautiful scenery, beautiful site to see, our tour guide was very good.
Cons: You start early and go all day; Long Long bus ride with somewhat crazy driving; very long wait to get on the shuttle; we felt very rushed and did not have enough time to explore on our own; one of the guys (angry older male) was very rude and disrespectful to passengers of the shuttle (as there was no room on the shuttle). The guide got into a verbal altercation with a family with a baby carriage complaining that they were taking up too much room on the shuttle. I believe that the guide was trying to push his way on the shuttle and spilled the fathers coffee on the baby and still managed to complain to the father instead of apologizing like a normal adult would do. Our guide was awesome, however, the grumpy guide made me upset with my minimal interaction with him. I would potentially rate this trip higher if it was not so rushed. I went here when I was in college and think that a 2 day Normandy/Mont Saint Michel trip on your own may be better.
Be prepared for a 5 hour bus ride both ways on a very impersonal double-decker bus with multiple languages. Mont St Michel-- be ready for about 3000 stairs--not an exaggeration. It is glorious and try to find time to do the tour-- they do not give you time to see or do much. We skipped the lunch to give ourselves more time to see the cathedral. I recommend doing that and buying lunch on the island.
I recommend going to Mont St Michel--but not with this tour company. It was a miserable tour guide and ride.
Expand your horizons with a day trip to medieval Mont St Michel, one of France’s most iconic attractions. This magical UNESCO World Heritage island is a step out of the ordinary with its famous gothic abbey and legendary stories. You’ll arrive after a scenic drive from Paris through the landscapes of Normandy, with a guide to brush up on your history. There’ll be plenty of time to explore the island, admire the bay views and do a little shopping, with a delicious lunch included.
