Stop At: Louvre Museum, 99 rue de Rivoli, 75001 Paris France
Your 3-hour journey through some of the world’s great artistic treasures begins at the Arc du Carrousel, next to the Louvre entrance. Choose a morning, afternoon or evening tour and meet your English-speaking guide. Enjoy fast access to the museum with your skip-the-line pass and begin your tour through the massive venue, home to over 35,000 works of art spanning more than 73,000 square meters of exhibition space. Your entrance pass also provides complimentary audio headsets.
Wander the diverse exhibitions, starting with the Ancient Greek Parthenon, followed by the iconic Venus de Milo. While in the ancient antiquities’ gallery, view the celebrated Winged Victory of Samothrace. Then head to the Apollo Gallery to see the opulent royal crowns of Napoleon and King Louis XV. Get a taste of the French Revolution with Delacroix’s painting Liberty Leading the People and take in the Italian Renaissance as you gaze at the work of Michelangelo and Da Vinci's Mona Lisa. (See full sample list below.)
With your small group (limited to 25 people), engage in lively chats with your guide and hear entertaining anecdotes, trivia and history. Afterward, spend as much time as you like exploring the museum independently.
Please Note: Evening tours are limited to Wednesdays and Fridays at 6:30pm. For an extra unique experience, book an evening session and wind through the quiet corridors at night, when the crowds are gone, and the artwork is basked in soft light. Our guide, Carolina was excellent and greatly added to our visit to the Louvre. If you are planning only one visit to the Louvre, I strongly recommend this guided tour. The Louvre's must see attractions are scattered throughout the huge museum and without a guide, you will waste a lot of time searching for them. And when you do find them, a guide gives you the back story behind each of them so you will have more than a picture for your experience.
In reality, our 3 hour tour only covered some of the museum's highlights. After the tour, we spent an additional 5 hours seeing other attractions such as Napoleon III Apartments and the Egyptian Collection.
I don't know if this applies to all guided tours but our admission ticket did NOT allow us to re-enter the museum if we had exited it. If you want to see more than just the highlights, choose the early morning tour. After the tour, you can grab something to eat in a museum cafe and then see as many of the Louvre's other attractions as your energy allows.
Sadly, as I write this, I see that the museum is closed due to the Coronavirus crisis. I feel fortunate to be able to visit it before everything shutdown. When things return to normal, I hope you take the opportunity to visit one of the world's greatest museums.
Tina was wonderful! She was very funny and knowledgeable and friendly. We
Really enjoyed our tour! And learn lots!
Tina was the best... So entertaining and knowledgeable!!! Perfect guide for us, perfect experience..
We had a great guided tour led by John Edward. He was extremely knowledgeable about the museum, the pieces he showcased and art history in general. Just a fantastic experience.
The guide was excellent. John Edwards (our guide) is a historian and someone that provides stories and great details.
Alex our guide was outstanding! He was very knowledgeable and informed. He brought a real sense of humor to the tour and was very personable. We really enjoyed the experience and would highly recommend to anyone who has an interest in art and would like a tour guide who keeps it relevant for everyone whatever their level of knowledge.
This is our 2nd time doing this tour. We missed the 1st one 2 years ago and did the tour ourselves which was so useless because everything was in french and audio was so confusing. We decided to sign up again this time. We loved Violet ( tour guide). She answered our questions, She knows the history very well. I liked how she went into details of the paintings and sculptures. She organized the presentation from how the museum started. We were well informed on the highlights of the museum from Venus de Milo to Monalisa ( Monna Lisa). She kept my 7 year old son engaged with some tasking which turned out to be more fun and not boring to him. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻. I would recommend Violet to my friends.
The tour guide was wonderful and an expert at explaining the history and main highlights of the Louvre. This was truly a highlight on our Paris trip and would highly recommend.
Awesome guide. Very knowledgeable with some some humor. He shows passion about what he does and shares it with client. Thanks
Waste of money. Our tour guy left before we arrived to the meeting point. Had to purchase new ticket. Still no response from the customer service.
