Chloe was an excellent tour guide. I had a much better understanding of French history after our tour.
We had a van take us to a location right in front of the palace. The driver arrived promptly at the selected time at our hotel. It was a 45 minute drive. Our tour guide Sofie, was excellent and knew everything about the palace, its architecture, the royals who lived there, the surrounding environs, the gardens, etc. She made the palace come alive for us.
At 2 pm, the driver met us at the drop off location and took us directly back to the hotel. It was a wonderful day.
The tour was well planned and very informative about Versailles. We were able to see the palace even though there were a lot of other people there. The transpiration to and from teh palace was excellent.
The driver picked us up at our hotel right on time and was waiting for us at the conclusion of the tour. Our tour guide was very well informed. Some of the earpieces were not working well and there were not enough replacements. Consequently, a couple of people in our group had to go without. Overall it was a great experience.
I can't say enough about our tour, they picked us up at our hotel as promised, comfortable ride out to Versailles where we were met by the tour guide, she was knowledgeable, her English was a little hard to understand, but then again she was competing to be heard over the roaring crowd which was not her fault. The driver picked us up at the designated time. I would recommend this tour to everyone.
Skip the line is the way to go, this was a great and informative tour! We were able to easily move throughout Versailles. Would highly recommend.
Absolutely beautiful castle and well worth the ride. I was picked up on time at my hotel, provided sight seeing information during the ride.. Met by guide who took us through the castle. Then had ample time to roam the gardens. Pick up back to the city on time dropped off at hotel. Great sight seeing adventure
We were rushed through and there were parts of the palace we never saw. Our guide was knowledgeable but it felt like she was in a hurry to get through. She had to be asked questions about the significance of the paintings which she explained very fully but had we not asked we would have been lost. Our driver was excellent but we were parked a long way from the palace gates.
So we get picked up at our hhen it goes dootel which is convenient... though the driver doesn't say a word about anything. Then, it's a 15 minute walk to Versailles. We skip the line (thank god - you should see it in the afternoon - we were there early) and twnhill. The guide had a heavy French accent and spoke so fast - she was completely unintelligible. The crowds were *insane* - you could barely move sometimes. It would've been better off going alone and getting an audio guide (and I spent this for convenience and personal service and got the exact opposite). Also, this traps you in to a time that the tour leaves, and I was sick of this place by 2 and it wouldn't leave until 5. The "apartments" which are yet another part of this are not "apartments" at all. They're a museum exhibit. Furthermore, Le Petit Trianon (where Marie Antoinette lived) is dull and has nothing inside really. For walking a mile there AND paying $5 for the little tram service back, it was a huge waste. Of course all the food is overpriced but that is to be expected. In general, I can't waste my vacation time on this. 2 hours there is enough. The gardens are just more of the same if you've been to royal palaces in Italy or the UK...except these go for MILES. If you really want to see it, go in January. Even in October there are still too many people.
Do not do this. So packed you moved inch by inch smashed up with hundreds of tourists from room to room. Could not even get close to see a chair or bed or furniture. completely over packed with people. Worse than 5 pm subway in nyc. We demand recommendation. Awful. Terrible. The worst experience and every one during this nightmare tour will agree oeopke not on onvec
