The tour was amazing and our guide was very nice and had a lot of knowledge on the city. I would book again
I loved SF and I loved the trip to Muir Woods, Saulsilito and Alcatraz. Nice small group size, pristine transportation and a great guide. Felt like a luxury as opposed to more crowded group tours.
Guide was very friendly and eager to accommodate requests, including a pickup from my hotel! I value being able to rely on Viator for many options when I travel.
This tour was a great way to see some of the best of San Francisco. Our guide, Fiasel, was amazing and it was a great day!
Nice guide, good information
Beautiful scenes, audiotour Alcatraz awesome, nature of Muir impressive
Enjoyed our tour to Muir Woods, Sausalito and Alcatraz with Fayçal as our guide. After picking us up at our hotel, Fayçal took us through a few of the neighborhoods in San Francisco and provided some interesting history of them as we worked our way towards the Golden Gate Bridge. We made a short stop at the North end of the bridge for a photo op before continuing on to Muir Woods. Our time in Muir Woods was the highlight of our trip as we had ample time to wander the lower trail through the woods and take some amazing photos with the morning sun filtering through the trees. We then departed for Sausalito when we had a brief sightseeing tour before Fayçal dropped us off for about an hour to have lunch. He recommended a few restaurants and we ended up at Napa Valley Burger where the food was good and the service was fast. We had a brief stroll along the street window shopping before having to jump back in the van and head over to the Alcatraz ferry. Once we arrived at Pier 33 we were provided our tickets for the 1:35 ferry to Alcatraz and that was the end of our journey with Fayçal. We caught the ferry and enjoyed the sights and audio tour on Alcatraz. We caught the ferry back and then were on our own to find our way back to our hotel.
In retrospect, if I were to do it again, I would do a trip to Alcatraz separately from any other tour as I did not realize we would be dropped of there and would need to make our own way back to the hotel. I really enjoyed Muir Woods and would have enjoyed spending a couple of hours in Sausalito so probably would look for a tour that was more relaxed in pace.
This was a good tour. The auto transportation and driver were great. Muir Woods tour was very interesting. However, I feel it was overpriced because of the amount of time we spent in Sausalito. Once we arrived there we had 40 minutes to do a self tour. Unfortunately, some were hungry and had barely enough time to purchase fast food. Therefore, self touring was out of the question. Lastly, once arriving at the Alcatraz pier the driver generally does not walk the tourist to the admission gate. And that place is very confusing and crazy! But, one of the tourist insisted that he escort us there and he did.
Alcatraz was definitely worth visiting. There was quite a few people milling around all listening to their headphones and because they were all at relatively the same place in the story having all arrived together on the ferry, it could get a bit congested at times.
Muir Woods was disappointing - part of it was shut and we were mixed up with a large school party of primary school kids whom the teachers did not seem to have any control over (or interest in!!). Only go, if a nature trail of sorts is your thing!
As for Sausalito - well, I'm not sure what the trip was all about!! There is nothing there but a few shops! Not enough time to eat or do anything really. I would give this a miss.
The bus driver was excellent and chatted and gave us facts throughout the trip. He also dropped us the correct pier for the Alcatraz ferry and took others back to the start point.
the driver was really nice but it is expensive it is worth if you don't have your tickets for alcatraz ...because we didn't have time to discover Sausalito actually we just have lunch there no time to visit I was really disappointed because after they drop you in front of the Alcatraz boat 1h30 before your departure( I don't want to discover pier 39 I did it before ) we just wait there 1h30 with other people from the tour. Otherwise you are in a small group of people and muir woods and alcatraz are cool.
This Tour will take you across the Golden Gate Bridge, walk among old growth coast redwoods of the famous Muir Woods National Monument Park. You will discover some of the most beautiful house boats in the world, where a hippie community took residence in the 70's and admire the beautiful seaside Mediterranean style City of Sausalito.
After that you will have an extraordinary experience with an audio tour in the most famous prison, Alcatraz.
The transportation will be in a luxury brand new Mercedes Sprinter Van with only 11 passenger total. You will have a particular attention from your tour guide during all your trip.
