We really like the Viator, I bought viator excursion before and we like it, I will recommend viator to all my friends and relatives
What a great day, to visit the iconic Mt Fuji and lake Ashi, including lunch! I am vegetarian and I got a vegetarian dish in Japanese style it was awesome. The time at Mt Fuji was a little bit short but you have time to take pictures and see some gift shops, at Lake Ashi its just beautiful, water is so serene and the scenery just beautiful , driver and tour guide very nice. I recommend this tour
Our guide, Joy, was knowledgeable, helpful and funny. Our bus driver was amazing. Hakone was breathtaking, unfortunately my Fuji was invisible :) altogether, very fun
We have very entertaining tour guide a Japanese gentlemen and 2 old couples from USA kept entertaining throughout the tour. Except we can't see Fuji san we all happy with the tour.
This well organised trip would have been great if it hadn't been so cloudy. Mt Fuji was shrouded for most of the time and the cable car ride was a bit of a joke as you could see absolutely nothing from the top.Well organised though, decent lunch. Charming, helpful guide but she could have given the microphone a rest at times! Nice to get out of the city and see some countryside.
Easy to find the bus station and pick up site for the tour. Clear signage from the train station. Tour staff was very nice about checking in for the tour. Guide had lots of pictures to help explain the tour. Definitely not enough time at each site. Felt rushed most of the day. Mt. Fuji did not reveal herself due to the foggy day and the same goes for the boat ride and the Ropeway ride. Tour Company did the best they could in spite of the weather. Lunch was great with several dishes to try. Everything needs to be at least 10 to 15 minutes longer at each site. Had problems in return on Bullet Train due to exit out of last station in Tokyo. The Bullet Train ticket did not work for exit. We had to pay extra to get out of the station. Perhaps this travel problem could be better explained by staff when they leave you at the train station entrance gate to catch the Bullet Train.
Unfortunately the tour turned out to be very underwhelming and the weather just added to the experience. The tour guide was nice but confused multiple times and the coordination of activities was chaotic. The scenery along the way was nice but there was no opportunity to stop and experience it.
We were very well aware that we may not see Mt Fugi and totally understood that, however to be driver for all that time to arrive and basically have a total of 15 minutes to look around that was terrible. The bullet train was another total ripe off as we were given a map of where to go to get on the train with no seating and left to our own devices to get back to where we needed to be. We had to stand up the whole way and saw nothing. Please do not pay to do this we have done trips with Viator all over the world this is disgusting and we are telling everyone we know not to do this trip it is such a letdown
1. Pick up location really hard to find. 2. Wanted to see Mount Fuji. When we arrived we were dumped outside the coach and directed to the tourist shop. Total time on Mount Fuji 30 minutes. Warned that if we missed the bus we would have to spend $300+ dollars making our way back to the station. Once off the coach there was no Mount Fuji to see as we were in a coach park. Guide didn’t know about the trail so by the time we found it we had to run back to the coach. Did not experience any of Mount Fuji other than through the coach window. 3. Rest of tour was a complete waste of time. Given five minutes at another peak which involves running. Total time in coach 9.5 hours.
You need at least a few hours on the trail of Mount Fuji to appreciate it.
Do not book this tour if you want to see Mount Fuji. I believe this company may have failed under a different trading name and now have restarted. Company name SunSet tours.
We spend too much time on the bus and little time on the ground. There is a bogus stop at a lacklustre amusement park that's a waste of an hour. The english guide wasn't really fluent in english.
Be also warned that Fujisan is often covered with clouds and is not always visible.
