We picked this custom trip because my parents (who are in their 70's and we don't speak Japanese) wanted to see this iconic Mountain that has been associated with Japan and Japanese culture for ages. Ali, our companion for the day, made this a truly memorable trip with his impeccable English and knowledge of the area. He is a great conversationalist and is full of unrestricted zeal, initiative and enthusiasm. When we started early in the morning, it was cloudy and Mt Fuji was not visible till noon. During this time, we covered sites around Lake Kawaguchiko which were beautiful on their own. But when the sun broke through the clouds and the great Fuji-san presented itself during the second half of the day, we drove around the lakes and caught some magnificent views of the mountain. Finally, we made our way to the stunning Shiraito Waterfalls (which is not covered by most of the popular day tour programs) and had a spectacular finale to a great day. Thank you, Ali, for giving us a memorable experience we will cherish for the rest of our lives.

We, as a family of three, paid AUD $881 for a chauffeur-driven private car organized through Viator to visit Mount Fuji and the surrounding areas. Deeply disappointed. The driver didn't talk much. We encouraged him to high-light places of interest during the 2- hour trip which he didn't take up. We asked him why he is not giving us commentary on the way to Mount Fuji, he said he is not a tour guide. I thought we are getting a driver who can provide commentary so that we can learn and enjoy the place we are visiting.
For our money, we might as well hire a taxi to take us from point A to point B. Viator should let us know, if the driver is not in a position to do commentary on the trip.
