Why go

Choose this walk for green pauses and changing architecture rather than a succession of indoor visits. Parc Rambot introduces lawns and mature cedars before the route crosses the centre towards the formal geometry and sculpted façade of the Pavillon de Vendôme. Treat Vendôme as a garden and exterior visit. Continue south to the curving Grand Théâtre de Provence, then finish with the different garden levels and lime-tree avenue at Parc Jourdan. Families can spend longer in the parks and keep the architecture stops brief. The cathedral and Pavillon Noir are optional additions; neither is needed to connect the three green spaces.
