Look at the nave with its restorers in mind. Between 1857 and 1862, the diocesan architect Révoil added neo-Gothic decoration while in contact with Viollet-le-Duc and the team restoring Sainte-Chapelle in Paris. That connection places Aix's interior within a wider French interest in reviving medieval forms.
