Sint-Walburgis Church
Sint-Walburgis is a compact modernist church in Het Zuid, with a restrained brick exterior and an art filled interior. Its distinctive architecture rewards a planned stop during an area walk.
The Flemish heritage register identifies Flor Van Reeth’s modernist church at Volkstraat 41 and its preserved architectural value. The active parish presents concerts and occasional public visits, making the interior a worthwhile goal when access is offered; at other times the contrast with the neighbouring streetscape can be appreciated from outside.
