St. Lawrence’s Church
St. Lawrence’s Church is an Art Deco and Neo Byzantine landmark in the southern Leikwartier, with a tower that anchors the surrounding streets. Its unusual form merits a dedicated architecture stop.
The Flemish heritage register records Jef Huygh’s 1930s–40s church and its protected artistic value. Visit for its distinctive massing and the contrast with Antwerp’s older churches; the local church heritage guide describes interior visits outside services, although current access should still be checked before travelling.
