Balashi Gold Mill Ruins
The surviving Balashi mill walls stand near Spanish Lagoon and Frenchman's Pass, offering a compact stop on Aruba's gold-mining history away from Bushiribana.
Balashi makes the island's mining era visible in a different landscape from the better-known north-coast mill. Walk around the exterior remains to see the masonry against the lagoon-side setting, then compare it with nearby Frenchman's Pass, a rock passage rather than another mill. The two sights deserve separate map pins.
What to look for
Surviving stone walls and chimney remnants.
Lagoon-side setting near Frenchman's Pass.
