Why go
Choose this route if you want to see how ancient Asisium survives inside the later town. The amphitheater is best read from the streets that still trace its oval shape. At Piazza del Comune, the Roman Forum moves the story below ground, among the remains beneath the modern square. Lararium Domus and the House of Propertius bring the scale down to Roman households, with decorative details that reward a slower look. The two houses have controlled entry, so arrange those visits before setting out and keep the other stops flexible around them. Walking distances are short, though the route moves between street level and underground rooms.
