Georgia Dome
The Georgia Dome was a major Atlanta stadium, but it was demolished in 2017. Keep it as a historical reference when reading older accounts of the convention district.
The former stadium helped define the west side of Downtown for decades after opening in 1992. It hosted Atlanta Falcons games and stood within the Georgia World Congress Center area. Today the Dome itself cannot be visited; its name explains older maps, transit references and descriptions of nearby venues rather than identifying a current stop.
Useful to know
Do not route to the Georgia Dome as a current venue; verify today's event location instead.
