Mission Bay makes an easy coastal break without leaving the city. The sandy curve, grass and promenade support swimming, walking and people-watching, while Rangitoto dominates the horizon. Its lively hospitality strip is convenient, but the bay is most enjoyable as part of the longer Tāmaki Drive shoreline.
