Broken Spoke
Choose the Broken Spoke for live country music and a working dance floor on South Lamar. The evening depends on the band and whether you want to dance.
This venue makes Austin’s country music tradition participatory: you can watch dancers, join the floor or build the visit around a lesson. The low-slung building has survived around newer development since opening in 1964. Look at the actual program before travelling, because dinner, lessons and the main dancehall are different parts of an evening.
