Seaholm Power Plant
Look at the former power plant’s industrial exterior in Austin’s redeveloped western downtown. Plan an architectural stop from public spaces rather than an interior plant tour.
The surviving power station makes the city’s former utility infrastructure visible among new buildings. Its massing and industrial details give this part of downtown a character different from Congress Avenue’s commercial facades. A short exterior visit works well with the nearby Central Library, but the two buildings offer separate architectural experiences.
