Why go
Begin at the Basílica de Sant Francesc, comparing its Baroque façade with the Gothic cloister when it is open. Walk through the old centre to the Museu de Mallorca, where archaeology and art trace the island’s history across many periods. Finish nearby at the Arab Baths, whose domed hot room preserves part of Palma’s Islamic past. The three sites sit close together, so most of the time goes to the visits rather than crossing town. Allow roughly four hours at an unhurried pace, including the short walks. Check each venue’s current visiting arrangements before setting out, especially if you want to see the interiors.
