The Four Largest Balearic Islands
Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera are four separate island choices, each with its own local history and places to explore. Use this group to compare islands, not as a single-day route.

Keep exploring Balearic Islands with our travel partners.
Start with the kind of visit that interests you: Palma’s cathedral and palace on Mallorca, the Museu de Menorca in Maó, Ibiza’s walled Dalt Vila, or Formentera’s prehistoric Ca na Costa. These anchors show how differently the islands can reward a visit. Pick one island to explore in depth, or use the group to plan separate island stays.
Useful to know
The four islands are separate destinations; decide on an island before choosing individual sights.
Use the named anchors as examples, then build a separate plan for each island you visit.
The route, stop by stop
Times are planning estimates. Unknown visit durations start at an editable 30 minutes; access is checked separately.
The largest Balearic island links Palma's urban heritage with the Serra de Tramuntana and a coast of coves. Treat Mallorca as a choice of regions, rather than a single stop.
Menorca brings together the historic centres of Maó and Ciutadella, prehistoric stone sites and a coast of coves. Plan around one part of the island at a time.
Ibiza pairs the walled streets of Dalt Vila with sandy beaches, clear-water coves and whitewashed rural architecture. Use the island as a base for distinct town and coast outings.
Formentera is the southern island of the Ibiza–Formentera group, with sandy beaches, clear water, walking and cycling routes, and lighthouses. Choose a route or coastal area before setting out.
