Excursions from Bangkok
Ayutthaya, Ko Kret and other nearby destinations provide a change of scale from the capital, with each best treated as a separate outing.
Why go
Ayutthaya and Ko Kret offer a change of scale from Bangkok, but they work best as separate outings rather than quick additions to a city day. Use the contrast to choose between a former royal capital and a compact island community, then check current transport, access and programme details before committing time.
Useful to know
Give Ayutthaya and Ko Kret separate outings rather than adding either to a Bangkok city day.
Check current transport and access for the chosen destination before departure.
