Why go
Codrington College offers an architectural stop in the quieter east of Barbados. The long college building, formal grounds and water in front of it form a setting unlike the island’s coastal viewpoints. Its continuing role as a theological college gives the place a purpose beyond a preserved facade. Visitors can appreciate the exterior, but classes and private rooms are not part of an assumed tour. The facade, water and formal planting give the grounds their distinct character.
What to look for
- The long historic college facade.
- The landscaped grounds and water before the building.
Useful to know
- Ask the college which grounds and rooms visitors may enter before going.
