Ragged Point Lighthouse

View the old stone lighthouse at Ragged Point and the Atlantic coastline around Barbados’s eastern edge. Its exposed setting makes this an exterior viewpoint stop rather than an interior tour.

Ragged Point Lighthouse

Why go

Ragged Point Lighthouse, also called East Point Lighthouse, stands above the exposed St Philip coast. The tower dates to 1875, and the area gives views toward the Atlantic and Culpepper Island. Plan to see the exterior: public entry to the tower is not established. The surrounding terrain can be uneven near cliffs, so choose a safe approach and keep back from edges. The tower and open coastline together make the headland the focus of the stop.

What to look for

  • The nineteenth-century stone tower.
  • Atlantic views from the eastern coast.
  • Culpepper Island in the wider outlook.

Useful to know

  • Confirm the approach and stay back from cliff edges; tower entry is not established.
