Sion Hill Place
Sion Hill Place is a compact Georgian terrace in Bath's Lansdown area. Its symmetrical front is a short exterior architecture stop, best paired with the nearby hilltop crescents.
The terrace rewards a close look at how symmetry was made from separate houses. Number 5 projects forward beneath a pediment, while the end houses have full-height curved bows. Those variations give the nine-house composition a centre and two clear ends, making it a useful comparison with Lansdown Crescent's longer curve.
What to look for
The central house steps forward beneath a pediment.
Curved bows mark the two ends of the terrace.
Gates and railings contribute to the street-facing composition.
Useful to know
Combine this brief frontage view with Lansdown Crescent rather than making a separate trip uphill.
Keep to public space; the terrace is residential and its interiors are not part of the visit.
