Driving and parking in Belgrade
A car can help with trips beyond central Belgrade, but traffic and scarce street parking make the city centre harder to navigate. Plan your parking before driving in.
Why go
The central streets demand more planning than a simple drive to an attraction. Yellow-marked lanes may be reserved for public transport or taxis, and central street spaces can have marked parking zones with time limits. A public garage can be a more straightforward base for a longer visit. Check current signs and payment instructions on arrival because zone rules and enforcement details can change.
Useful to know
Identify a public garage before entering the centre if you need to leave the car for several hours.
Read the lane and parking signs on the street; some yellow-lane restrictions apply only at specified times.
Check the current zone limit and payment method where you park.
