Košutnjak Forest
Košutnjak is a large wooded area south of central Belgrade, crossed by walking paths and linked to the Topčider landscape. Go for a longer green break rather than a brief landmark stop.
The paths and forest cover make Košutnjak a different kind of Belgrade outing from the central parks and riverfront. Its upper and lower areas spread across hilly ground, with the Topčiderska River valley separating parts of the adjoining wooded landscape. Give it time to feel like a walk, not a checklist stop.
What to look for
Wooded paths cross the park forest rather than a formal garden layout.
The lower forest connects visually and geographically with Topčider.
The Topčiderska River valley shapes the area's slopes.
Useful to know
Wear shoes suited to longer paths and uneven or sloping ground.
Choose a section of the forest in advance; the area is too broad for a token stop.
