Skadarlija
Skadarlija is a short cobbled pedestrian street in Stari Grad known for its historic kafanas and bohemian associations. Come for the street scene, then decide whether a meal fits your plans.
The curved cobbled lane, lanterns and old restaurant frontages make Skadarlija visually distinct from nearby central streets. Its artistic reputation has a specific anchor in the house of writer and painter Đura Jakšić. A walk works on its own; a restaurant visit is a separate choice with variable menus and hours.
What to look for
Cobblestones and lanterns define the short pedestrian lane.
Historic kafanas line Skadarska Street.
The Đura Jakšić house and Skadarlija fountain give the street specific landmarks.
Useful to know
Walk the full short curve before choosing a restaurant.
