Ušće Tower

This office tower stands on the Novi Beograd side near the Sava–Danube confluence. Its value to a visitor is the exterior and the history it carries, rather than an assumed viewpoint inside.

Ušće Tower

Why go

Built for Yugoslavia's League of Communists, the tower was badly damaged in the 1999 NATO air strikes and later rebuilt. That sequence gives its glass exterior more meaning than its height alone. Look at it while exploring the riverside and the surrounding postwar district.

What to look for

  • The glass tower rises near the meeting of Belgrade's two rivers.
  • Its rebuilt form recalls the damage it sustained in 1999.
  • The surrounding district places it within Novi Beograd's planned landscape.

Useful to know

  • Plan an exterior look; public access to the office tower or an observation deck is unverified.
  • Combine it with a walk toward the river confluence.
