University of Deusto Main Building
The University of Deusto’s main building gives the north bank a long, grand nineteenth-century frontage. Its river-facing exterior is a rewarding stop near Deusto Bridge.
View the façade from the opposite bank or approach along Avenida de las Universidades to appreciate its scale. The university anchors the historic Deusto side of the river and contrasts with the contemporary buildings across the pedestrian bridge. The bridge gives a broad view back to campus.
What to look for
Francisco de Cubas designed the large 1886 Jesuit university building facing the estuary.
