Towers of Bologna
Bologna's medieval towers are scattered through the centre rather than gathered at one site. A street-level walk links the famous pair with quieter survivors such as Galluzzi, Prendiparte and Azzoguidi.
The towers make medieval competition and city building visible above today's streets. Look beyond Asinelli and Garisenda: Galluzzi rises by Corte Galluzzi, while Prendiparte and Azzoguidi appear in the central lanes. Seeing several from public streets gives a richer picture than treating the Two Towers as the whole story.
