Why go
Choose this route when you want a substantial indoor day without crossing between distant districts. The Musée d'Aquitaine starts with the city and region’s past. The Musée des Arts décoratifs et du Design and the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Bordeaux then shift attention to objects, interiors and paintings around the western side of the centre. Finish at the Musée national des Douanes near the river for a more specific look at Bordeaux’s trading history. Four museums can fill the day, so keep each visit selective. Check current access and exhibitions before setting out, especially if one collection is the main reason for your trip.
