Tour Pey-Berland
This separate bell tower beside Cathédrale Saint-André offers a high view over central Bordeaux. The reward requires a steep climb up a narrow spiral stair.
Built for the cathedral but standing apart from it, the tower makes an unusual pair with the Gothic church across Place Pey-Berland. Its sculpted exterior and gilded Notre-Dame d’Aquitaine can be admired from the square; climbing to the observation terraces adds a broad view of Bordeaux for visitors comfortable with stairs.
