Getting around Bristol by bus
Buses can bridge the gap between Temple Meads, the city centre and Clifton when walking uphill or across town is inconvenient. Plan around your actual stops, not an old route number.
Why go
The station, Broadmead, the Harbourside and Clifton are useful reference points when choosing a bus journey. A bus can spare the climb towards Clifton after a waterfront visit, while central sights may be closer on foot. Treat sightseeing buses and ordinary services as different choices, and check the current route map before travelling.
Useful to know
Look up live routes and stops for Temple Meads, the centre and Clifton before setting out.
Compare a bus with walking for short trips within the Harbourside and Old City.
Check current fares and ticket rules with the operator; old pass names are unreliable.
