Using the Bucharest Metro
The metro is the fastest way to cross broad sections of Bucharest, while walking and surface transport remain better for closely spaced central landmarks.
Why go
Use the network for longer jumps between districts, not for every movement inside the centre. Piața Victoriei, Universitate, Piața Unirii and Gara de Nord are useful orientation points, but interchange passages can add time. Check the official journey planner and current payment rules before travel because service patterns and accepted media can change.
Useful to know
Confirm the line direction and terminal station before descending to the platform.
Keep a separate surface route ready when lifts, escalators or planned works affect an interchange.
