From the Buenos Aires World / Itineraries

Recoleta and Palermo Gardens

Move from Recoleta's monumental architecture into Palermo's botanical garden, Japanese Garden and lakes, balancing one indoor anchor with open green space.

Recoleta and Palermo Gardens

Why go

Start in Recoleta with the Law School façade and a chosen museum, then continue northwest toward Palermo's gardens. The Botanical Garden provides a compact planted landscape, while the Japanese Garden offers a more composed, ticketed visit. Finish around the Bosques de Palermo and Planetarium as light softens over the lakes. This is a full outdoor day with several entrances, so keep the Ecopark optional and avoid trying to cover every path in the park.

Useful to know

  • Check garden opening days, carry water and drop the Ecopark if you spend longer in the museum or Japanese Garden.
