Arriving in Cairo by Plane
Cairo International Airport is northeast of the city near Heliopolis. Plan the onward journey before landing, especially if your stay is in central Cairo or Giza.
Why go
Flying brings you to Cairo's main international airport, but the airport is some distance from the central districts many visitors use as a base. The journey to Downtown, Zamalek or Giza needs its own plan. Confirm your terminal and ground transport from current airport information, since airline assignments and transfer services change.
