Dahshur

South of Saqqara, Dahshur is an open desert necropolis with several royal pyramids. Its distance and exposure make it a deliberate half-day choice.

The Bent and Red Pyramids let visitors compare two stages in the development of smooth-sided pyramid building within one landscape. The broad site also includes later royal monuments, though individual access varies. Arrange transport between monuments and plan for sun and exposed ground.
