Memphis Open Air Museum
At Mit Rahina, the Memphis open-air museum presents large statues and fragments from the ancient capital. It is a compact addition to a Saqqara excursion.
The site keeps monumental pieces near the place where Memphis once stood, giving context to the ancient capital and its surviving sculpture. The large Ramesses II figure is a focal point, while other stone finds show the scale and variety of material recovered in the area. It pairs naturally with Saqqara’s tomb landscape.
