Tomb of Mereruka
Near Teti’s pyramid at Saqqara, Mereruka’s large mastaba contains decorated chambers. Its detailed wall scenes are the reason to enter.
Why go
Scenes of fishing, herding and work bring Old Kingdom life into focus alongside the royal monuments nearby. The multiroom tomb also shows the status of a powerful official and his family. It deserves a deliberate interior stop rather than being counted as another pyramid-viewing point.
